Support Sky Harbor Coalition
A group of prominent valley business leaders joined forces to help protect the economic stability of the State of Arizona by advocating the expansion of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The 13-member board held its first meeting in 2002 to develop strategies, message and fund raising goals.
Introducing the new non-profit organization, the coalition chairman stated, “The Support Sky Harbor Coalition is dedicated to promoting economic vitality and quality of life for Arizona residents. We support the continued development of Sky Harbor and the enhancement of its existing operations.”
Supporting the continued expansion of Sky Harbor is critical to meeting the needs of the Valley’s growing population, which is expected to double in the next 20 years. A recent scientific poll conducted by the Support Sky Harbor Coalition shows that most Valley residents support airport expansion, including an Automated People Mover, East Economy Parking, security related enhancements, a consolidated rental car facility and a new concourse.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is professional, efficient, customer oriented, and valued as the strongest economic engine in our state. Sky Harbor provides an invaluable service to Arizona residents and the thousands of tourists who help support our economy.
